Our story

A small-town heart.
A shared love of music.

There is something special about a tune passed from one generation to the next.

Based in Dillon, our musical community is known as the Dillon Junior Fiddlers. Young players and adult accompanists come together to learn, perform, and share the joy of fiddle music.

With roots in rural southwestern Montana, the group has brought music to stages near and far. At its heart is a simple idea: music gives us a way to grow together.

One hometown.

The Montana State Old-Time Fiddlers’ Association traces the Dillon Junior Fiddlers’ beginnings to 1983. In its 2023 Dillonaire of the Year feature, the Dillon Tribune celebrated the group and longtime mentors Sandy and Jeannie James for their contribution to the community.
